A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ICT TEACHING IN PERU AND GREECE
Abstract
This study examines the factors influencing the teaching of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) (or Computer Science, or Informatics) in classrooms in Peru and Greece. Its primary objective is to explore how ICT is introduced across different educational stages -namely early childhood, primary, and secondary education- through official state-mandated curricula. The study provides a comparative analysis of ICT teaching approaches at each educational level in the two countries. The main differences concern the use of virtual environments in Informatics instruction, whereas the similarities include programming education, the use of educational software, and the integration of ICT into the curriculum.
