Abstract

In the political work of Machiavelli, we discover three forms of political corruption. These are incivility, loss of political autonomy and deterioration of the body politic. To these different forms of corruption which come essentially from human passions and from the Church, Machiavelli proposed solutions which are both political and civil. In the light of socio-political news and the fact that human passions are always the same, it is easy to understand that the Machiavellian ideas and thoughts relating to political corruption are flagrantly topical and, therefore, they can enable modern men to fight effectively against this political evil which is political corruption.
