The cooperation between the Preschool Institutions and the parents whose children attend these institutions is an important issue. We say so, because, as we know, children are very sensitive and they have complex needs. The children’s development has several stages, and pedagogues (Vygotsky, Commenius, Dewei, Bruner, etc.) have given different ideas concerning these stages. People who work with children should be familiar with all of them. We suppose that educators who work with children know the stages of the children’s development, but it is very important for the parents to be familiar with them as well. The cooperation between the PIs and the parents, the modalities of cooperation in Kosovo as well as the cooperation about the portfolios are just some of the issues treated in this article.
Wellbeing in our Schools. CIDREE-Yearbook 2017
Personal Development as a curricular theme – Deliberating wellbeing, freedom and success in the Dutch curricular landscape (2017)Initial plans for an integral reform or realignment of the Dutch ‘national’ curriculum-framework included the wish to arrive at a better balance between the three major aims of general education: qualification, socialisation and ‘personal development’. In anticipation of actual reforms to take place, the Netherlands institute for curriculum development, SLO, has tried to get more conceptual clarity on what ‘personal development’ is, and how it can be addressed and/or integrated in the curriculum in a more substantial way. In this chapter, we will show how we have come to analyse this ‘fuzzy’ concept as a typical melange of historical and contemporary strands in educational thinking and practice. Three cases of schools working consciously with concepts of ‘personal development’ are presented. These cases do seem to corroborate our hypothesis that, in practice, different perspectives on or aspects of ‘personal development’ seem to be invoked, albeit not always explicitly or consciously. Further curricular work at the meso-level of schools and schoolboards might benefit from a more deliberate focus on the basis of clearer concepts. A more concise and practical grid to help schools planning their curriculums in this respect will be therefore be presented.

Digital Technologies in Early Childhood: Attitudes and Practices of Parents and Teachers in Kosovo2020 •
The purpose of this study was to examine preschool teachers and parents' attitudes and their practices regarding the use of digital technologies during preschool education. The main research questions the study intended to address focused on teachers' and parents' attitudes and practices about the role of digital technology supplies in young children's development. The study used a mixed research approach, using in-depth interviews and an online questionnaire. The results have shown that only one of the eight preschool teachers reported a positive attitude regarding the impact of digital technology in children's development. Most of the interviewed preschool teachers showed preference towards authentic play and activities exercising children's psycho-motor skills. However, most of parents have suggested that their children, starting from early years of their development, are exposed to different digital technologies. In conclusion, there are two contradictory findings (progressive and regressive philosophies) among parents and preschool teachers regarding their perceptions and practices on the use of digital technologies in young children's learning and development. The study advocates for continuous cooperation between parents and teachers to ensure prospects of maximizing benefits and alleviating potential risks of using digital technologies in early childhood education.
The aim of this study is to determine preschool teachers’ views on home visits. The study used a semi-structured interview to collect data. The form was developed by the researcher and it consists of two sections: a demographic information section and the views on home visits of preschool teachers’ section. Thirty preschool teachers participated in this study. The results of the research suggested that the pre-school teachers thought that they needed to make home visits to children with problems, to get information about the child’s home environment, to get to know the child, and to learn about their family relations.

Balkan Sunflowers Kosova, with the support and partnership of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, undertook to perform a survey on participation in education of the, Ashkali, Egyptian and Roma communities in 9 municipalities where we had developed a school mediation program during 2010 and 2011. The scope and ambition of the survey quickly outgrew the original plan. A new partnership with the Czech NGO People in Need, supported by the Czech Development Agency, allowed for implementation of a more extensive survey. This report presents the findings of the Survey, which was conducted during July and August 2011. The survey conducted face-to-face interviews, generally with the head of the family, in 2,346 homes in Kosovo Ashkali, Egyptian, and Roma, households. In all, this survey includes data on 12,711 people, spanning several generations. It provides information on the level of education through these several generations, the participation of current school attendees, the numbers of children who have left school prior to completion of compulsory education, attitudes and challenges, and more.

THE CULTIVATION OF MUSICAL INTELLIGENCE AND ITS CONTRIBUTION TO CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT -A DIGITAL MUSIC LESSON IN KINDERGARDEN WITH PARENTS' INPUT2020 •
Formal music education influences various aspects of cognitive development such as perception, memory and language skills. There are elements that suggest that music contributes to people's mental health by having a positive impact on pregnancy and adulthood while additionally creating higher brain function in those who are familiar with music in general. This paper will refer to inquiries about the contribution of music and a digital music lesson will be presented that was held in a kindergarten classroom with the participation of parents highlighting ICT's contribution.
The report preset the finding of a research on teacher professionalism carried out in Kosovo, in collaboration with the University of Pristina and financed by Save The Children Association. The data were collected thought a survey (questionnaires for teachers and parents) and focus groups (with parents). Despite the great efforts made by both the Government of Kosovo and various capacities in this field, there are still many critical issue in the educational sector. The access to the educational system of children between 0 and 5 years of age appears highly problematic, in particular for those with a disadvantaged background related to disabilities or belonging to minority ethnic groups, such as the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities. The focus of this research is therefore primarily on educators and parents, collecting their perspectives and experienced in relation to the central aspects of professionalism in the education domain and expectations regarding access to services an...
The aim of the present study is to explore the possible effect of dramatic play in the development of playfulness of children 3-6 years old. Dramatic play is a psycho educational and artistic-theatrical procedure which gives children the opportunity to play and communicate in the group according to their needs and motivate the inspiration of ideas and their imagination and especially using their body expression in order to represent, improvise and ephemeral circumstances into a theatrical role. Playfulness is a natural tendency that leads children to give their own meaning to things and facts, to create fictional characters and obtain a freedom in roles and activities beyond outdoor enforcements. Assessment of playfulness is mainly based on the natural, social and cognitive spontaneity, the expression of joy, and the sense of humor. At the hard core of play that entails movement, lies the emotional expression of children. This is because children have to correspond and react accordingly to the various stimuli that appear during play. The sample consists of 67 children, 3 to 6 years old, who participated in groups of dramatic play once a week for twenty-nine weeks. To collect the data set, we used the Children’s Playfulness Scale (CPS, Barnett, 1990). The statistical analysis showed that the differences between pre and post- test scores were statistically significant (p-values <0.01), indicating that the intervention improved the scores of playfulness. This means that preschool children who participate in dramatic play groups can develop their physical, social and cognitive spontaneity, their sense of humour and manifest joy.
