The mission is one of the main elements that guide the strategies of the organizations; therefore, the objective of this work is to analyze the mission of the Federal Technological Institutes that are part of the Technological National of Mexico (TNM). For this purpose, a qualitative technique of content analysis was used designated to analyze the mission of the 126 Federal Technological Institutes that integrate the TNM. Also the element that was considered the most was the service with 58.9%, the region that obtained a higher percentage is Northeast with 31.19%. The main conclusion is that it was identified that IT missions are not aligned one with each other and not with the overall mission of the TNM.

This research focuses on the analysis of the main dimensions that integrate the mission of the Technological Institutes that integrate the Tecnológico Nacional de México (TNM). For this purpose, an 18dimensional matrix of elements that integrate the mission was designed and a qualitative technique of content analysis was used for the analysis of the missions of the 256 Technological Institutes. An indicator that is an average, called "percentage of presence", was also elaborated. The results indicate that the highest "presence percentages" are held by the Decentralized Technological Institutes (DTIs). In addition, the dimensions that have high presence percentages are "services" and "technology".

The original version of this project is a result of the 2003 UNISTAFF course held in Witzenhausen, Germany. The proposal had the intention of examining the correspondence between the strengths of the content of the curricula and the professional demands of the national market in the area of education. The proposal was submitted to the main authorities of UNAN-Managua immediately after my arriving to Nicaragua. Unfortunately, at that time there was not a favorable atmosphere in political as well as monetary terms. So the proposal was first discarded. But later on, the Vice-Rectory approved the carrying out of the project only if the proposal experienced a significant shift towards the institution's objectives as to the process of internal evaluation in progress at that point. Thus, instead of examining the curricula of the School of Education only, the proposal should examine all the careers in the university; additionally the focus of the study should be the institution and its most general interests, instead of the School of Education. The new set of objectives came to be: 1. To gather information for knowing graduates and employers' opinions on university topics. 2. To provide UNAN-Managua with fresh information valuable to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the university curriculum, and to better the institutional management, research, organizational development, library services, and topics related to teaching in the university. And 3, to examine the employer's opinions regarding their satisfaction with the product of the university. The method for approaching the subjects in this investigation was the survey. The Methodological Support Office for the Institutional Self-evaluation (UTA) decided to survey the Graduates as well as their employers. In correspondence with the period of years taken into account for the evaluation of the institution, UTA selected the rank 1999-2003. Thus, the views of graduates and employers would be really valuable and current. To decide on the sample for the graduates UTA chose a simple random technique. The population of graduates in the period of 1999 to 2003 was 5124. The sample selected was 95 individuals, (with a confidence level of 95% and 10% of Standard Error). Nearly all of the graduates with degrees conferred between 1999 and 2003 by UNAN-Managua hold a job at the moment of the survey (84%). Another 3% work for themselves, but only 13% had no job at that time. By and large, the labor situation of UNAN-Managua's graduates is satisfactory since their unemployment rate is below the national unemployment rate, which fluctuates between 20% and 40%. The average of the number of years that the graduates stayed at the university (number of years between the entrance and the concluding of the program of study) is 5.93 years. Most of the
