Analysis Of Research Culture And Scientific Production In A National UniversityThe research culture is a fundamental pillar for scientific production, because it allows us to train future professionals contemplating the techniques, methods and the process of research to prepare short documents: such as essays, monographs, and then deepen the knowledge by performing the thesis and scientific articles, in order to contribute to science with new knowledge. In the reality studied, it was evidenced that students lack investigative competences. The general and specialty training courses do not develop such capacities, but exclusively to theoretical and practical knowledge linked to professional training. Teachers do not consider research as a profitable activity. However, the educational community is acting proactively for the creation of new research teams with a disruptive presence, where researchers and teachers share their knowledge through the practical teaching of the process of scientific investigation. The university understudy, to date, has several projects...

How to introduce the research in the university teaching: a training experience in the Universitat Politècnica de València [Teacher Hub]2019 •
2019 •
In this work we present the project of initiation to the Educational ResearchAction (INED), within the pedagogical training program for university teachers organized by the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE), of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). This project responds to a need for a group of teachers that starts with a professional background and requires training to advance the process of professionalization of teaching, aligned with the concept of scholarship and the movement generated around it. The proposal is formulated as an action research to promote the improvement of teacher training models in higher education. Therefore, it involves a methodology close to the learning communities, so that both the design and implementation involve professors from the university with a background in educational research (6 mentors), pedagogical advisors and experts in different subject areas related to research in higher education. In this first edition of INED, 25 professor...

A framework for the construction of academic communities2017 •
Research culture is a fundamental factor in any university that promotes quality. The steppingstone in this process is the professors, who must possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes for the development of innovation and application of knowledge. This study is an action investigation, with an objective to validate a training model accompanied by the training of investigation and knowledge communities, aimed at the university professors from the Specialized University of the Americas (UDELAS). This is a descriptive field study that allows the reflection and analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the training process of investigators in UDELAS. While conducting scientific studies, this university promotes scientific culture through the training and development of knowledge and investigation communities. These communities are formed by professors-investigators with an interest in the same line of investigation. The results indicate that professors-investigators have improved their scientific knowledge. Investigation communities have become much stronger, and participants have perceived an adequate process of accompaniment and administration. In conclusion, research culture has grown in UDELAS and it
The epistemology and phenomenology of contemporary society tend to be deepened, and the philosophical challenges never are minimal that we may be called to face with the kind of post-modern chaos from the rapidly changing phenomena of the global community. The ballast held on the identity of faculty members as a teacher and researcher now turns due so as to be recast with our intrinsic of routine performance. I considered their quality as bent on the intellectual strife on the method and the kind of attitude, say, evaluation and consultation. In this paper, the authors have presented some thought and implications that triangulated the triad, i.e., research methodology, program evaluation and consulting illustration on the college research program rankings. The author is hoped that the discourse can help the academicians to share the attribute of different methods as well as the dimension of evaluation and consulting, perhaps essentially related with their work role in terms of teaching and researching.

Based on the case of a higher education institution in Bolivia with programs in the social sciences and the humanities, this essay describes features of a culture of knowledge and information consumption and how this practice obstructs the establishment of a culture of knowledge production. Ideas for ways to overcome this knowledge-consuming culture and to imagine a knowledge-production culture through research pedagogy methods are suggested. This exploration stems from the experience of a sociologist currently working in education, whose purpose is to contribute to the agenda of building a reflexive sociology in Bolivia and the region.
