The purpose of this study was to investigate the gender role orientation of exercisers with regard to types of exercise. Two hundred and forty four female (Mage=27.25 ± 7.25), 202 male (Mage= 26.92 ± 6.28) exercise participants voluntarily participated in this study. “BEM Gender Role Orientation Inventory” was administered to the participants. Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) was conducted for each sex to test whether there were differences in gender role orientations with regard to type of exercise. MANOVA revealed significant differences in gender roles of female exercisers (Hotelling’s T=0.03; F = 4.04; p<.05) with regard to type of exercise. Females who participated group exercises had higher masculinity scores than females who participated in individual exercise. On the other hand, MANOVA did not reveal significant differences in gender role orientation for male exercisers (Hotelling’s T= 0.01; F= 1.39; p>.05). It can be concluded that females who participated in group exercises such as squash, spinning, plates, kangoo-jump and tae-bo, are more risk-taking, dominant, ambitious and having more leadership characteristics than females who participated in individual exercises like fitness, swimming and hiking.

Problem-Solving Skills of High School Students Exercising Regularly in Sport Teams2015 •
In this article, the effect of regular sports activities on the problem-solving approaches performed by high school students when they encountered said the problem was analyzed. Six hundred male high school students participated in the study (Mage=15.45 years, age range: 14-17 years). The Problem-Solving Inventory (PSI) was used to evaluate students’ problem-solving solutions. Student-athletes were selected from the students who took charge in school teams, exercised for 6 days a week, provided that this exercise did not exceed 1 h 30 min, and who also participated in competitions. Mann-Whitney U test, which is a nonparametric test, was used to examine two samples (athlete, & non-athlete) and Kruskal-Wallis one-way the analysis was used to make intergroup (branches of sport) examinations. According to the findings that were obtained, a significant difference was found among self-confident approach values of the athlete and non-athlete students (U=45.0, p=0.008). A significant difference was observed among the assessor approach values of the athlete and non-athlete students (U=46.2, p=0.033). The students who did sports regularly were more self-confident than those who did not do sports regularly and were of the same age when they encountered a problem, and student-athletes evaluated the phase of solving the problem and results that they obtained more carefully than those who did not do sport regularly and were of the same age. Student-athletes believed that they would solve the problem that they encountered. Further, student-athletes preferred using a systematic method while solving a problem and making a decision more often than those who were not athletes and were of the same age.

Late talent identification of sport abilities endowed among the little boys and girls especially in under developed nations has delayed the proper attainment of sport prowess among most players. A huge desert of unnoticed talents is created and unknowingly let it grow between the tender ages to junior levels of the child. African education systems are devoid of the expertise or might be incapacitated to identify and tap the sport potentialities born in our children during their early ages of growth. The adoption of Early Child Education by numerous African states is silent about sport talent identification; talented players are picked at adult ages, unfortunately, nearing retirement from sport show-casing. This scenario has not benefited the players as well as the nations. Therefore, this study aimed to identify strategies Early Learning Centers can utilize in identifying sport talents in children enrolled in their centers for the benefit of sport coaches, player-agents, the child a...

Our research work has fixed as objective, to apprehend the report of mental preparation for athletic performance from a study of a population of Algerian athletes. Sports performance defined by Platonov, V.N (1984.) as being " the maximum possibilities of an individual in a discipline at a given moment in its development" involves several other determinants. And this definition has the interest to introduce "the concept of threshold or level of performance", which are quantifiable, as defined by time, distance, power. In contrast, the physical appearance which is much easier to quantify and evaluate, it seemed more that random to define this 'process' that unites a sports result in the specific field of the individual mind. And for this, we are interested in our study, this pane, in the matter of the psychological variables that differentiate individuals between them and to, "everything that distinguishes the champions of other normal individuals: differential psychology.'' Durand, M. (1987). And we asked why mental preparation is so important in the realization of the sports performance? What are its methods, how to determine its effectiveness? The intervention of the psychologist through a descriptive language full observation taken upstream, and has designed to try to understand that which is expressed, by his actions, emotions and attitudes in a stressful environment and in its "moments of great solitude." In other words, we are trying to assign to this mental factor 'discriminating quality' so coveted by the athlete and his coach.
