Based on the findings of different researches, it can be acknowledged that given the relatively high-frequency academic negligence among students, it is necessary for schools, parents and cultural officials to give students the opportunity to provide a suitable ground for their growth, increase their educational motivations and prevent their reluctance and burnout. Regarding the Glasser’s emphasis on 'schools without failure' and his theory application on the improvement of academic failure -which has been directly and indirectly pointed out by different studies, this study intends to further explore the role of control theory in students’ academic burnout and determine its effectiveness. A philosophy based on lack of affective relationships, lack of connection between academic contents and limited emphasis on thinking. Education must move towards a positive philosophy: A philosophy based on affective communication, content relationship, and thinking, otherwise we could not have many problems of failed students resolved. The results of this study also suggest the effectiveness of Glasser’s theory training on the reduction of academic burnout. Accordingly, Glasser's theory which is widely applied in schools, have been indicated to be the best for developing students’ academic achievement. It can be inferred from the results of this hypothesis that Glasser’s Choice and Control Theory, according to its principles and concepts such as responsibility, empathy between students and teacher, evaluation of the needs and other school-related concepts can increase motivation and willingness to learn and develop a framework for the reduction of academic negligence and burnout.
Effective human resource is the most important aspect of every organization. Almost all experts consider human resource as the most vital resource for organizations. They believe that this resource should enhance as the main asset of every society, triggering them to attempt more to make their society progress using proper policies. As Gordon believes, the only thing considered as competitive advantage today is quality people. In fact, people are the soft asset and the hidden value of any organization (Wyatt, et al., 2007: 501). Therefore, paying attention to work life quality of people is vital. Purpose: This article aims at studying the current situation and the effect of research variables on the work life of the staffs who are information technology users in selected universities based in Qom province of Iran. Initially, with the aim of achieving a precise understanding of QWL, the existing definitions of the issue were studied. Then, the authors dealt with the elements of QWL, namely health and well-being, job security, competency development, balance between work life and non-work (personal) life (Rethinam, Ismail, 2008: 67) these elements were put in a survey to be analyzed. Methodology: Two questionnaires were used as the tools of this study. The first questionnaire contained 23 questions to assess the current situation and the effect of research variables on the recognized level of QWL among IT users (See table 4). T-test was performed as well as confirmatory factor analysis using SPSS and AMOS software tools. The second questionnaire based on AHP method and using implemented software in an MS Excel environment aimed at apprehending the priority of research variables among the sample members. Population/ sample: The population of this researchincluded employees who use IT in the universities based in Qom, in which 143 filled forms were collected using cluster sampling, and finally, with the omission of 23 irrelevant forms, the sample included a number of 120 forms. Findings: Data analysis showed that there is a significant direct correlation only between job satisfaction and health and well-being, which is intervened by job satisfaction variable. Key Words: Quality of work life (QWL), IT users, stress, Job satisfaction, Job security, competencies, balance between work life and non-work life
The current paper aims to investigate the relationship between leadership style (LS) and emotional intelligence (EI) of coaches in selected team sports in universities of Kurdistan (Iran). An applied-correlational descriptive-survey method was used. Statistical population included all male and female coaches in sports chosen from volleyball and handball in universities of Kurdistan during the 2014-2015 academic year (n=58). Whole subjects were selected as the sample. Three questionnaires of personality characteristics, Emotional Intelligence (Syber Yashring), and leadership style (L.S.S) were used to collect data. Research reliability was determined with Cronbach's alpha test for intelligence emotional (α =0.824) and leadership style (α=0.718) questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out through Kolmogorov–Smirnoff (K-S) in order to determine normal distribution for data. Moreover, person’s correlation coefficient test was applied to measure research hypothesis. Pearson's result showed that there was relatively positive relationship between leadership style of "positive feedback" and coaching emotional intelligence in selected team sports of Tehran universities (r=0.275, p=0.036). However, there was no significant relationship between other leadership styles and emotional intelligence (p> 0.05). Due to significant relationship between some factors of emotional intelligence and leadership styles, it is recommended to consider emotional intelligence competencies to select team coaches, in addition to alternative coaching skills. Also, training courses before holding sports events may be established to enhance emotional intelligence of coaches, as the emotional intelligence abilities can be educated.
