The significance of exercise method on forehand and backhand groundstroke skills improvement in tennisTennis is a sport that has a high level of skill complexity. Therefore, increasing mastery of punch techniques especially the forehand groundstroke and the backhand groundstroke techniques is essential. The purpose of this study is to examine the level of forehand and backhand groundstroke skills of students of Physical Education, Sport, Health and Recreation (PJKR) department, Health science Faculty, Jenderal Sudirman University (UNSOED), using block and random practice training method. Research employs experimental methods. The research sample is 2017 class male students of PJKR FIKES UNSOED using the purposive random sampling technique. The research instrument employs Dyer Tennis Test, with a validity of 0.85 and a reliability of 0.90. Moreover, data analysis uses a prerequisite test consisting of normality and homogeneity tests and hypothesis testing applies t test with a significance of 0.05. The results is random practice method has better effect compared to block practice met...
The objective of the study is to find out the effect of specific table tennis training on the selected skill performance variables of school boys. For this study, twenty school boys were randomly selected from the S.S.M. Lakshmiammal Matric.Hr.Sec.School. Komarapalayam, Namakkal, Tamilnadu. The selected subjects were considered as only one group. The following criterion variables were selected for the study such as skill performance variables namely, target service and alternate counter. The training period would be the six weeks except Saturday and Sunday of every week. ‘t’ ratio was calculated to find out the significant of the difference between the mean of pre and post tests of the group. The level of significance for the study was chosen as 0.05. It was concluded that the skill performance variables namely target service and alternate counter were significantly improved due to the treatment of specific table tennis training. Keywords: Table tennis; taret service; alternate counter

The Effect of "Precision with Tempo" Exercises on the Accuracy of Groundstroke Punch Techniques in the Tennis Students Activity Unit of Yogyakarta State University2019 •
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of "precision with tempo" exercises on the accuracy of groundstroke punch techniques in the Fields Tennis Students Activity Unit of Yogyakarta State University. This was a quasi-experimental research using the one group pretest posttest design method. The population in this study were players of Fields Tennis Students Activity Unit of Yogyakarta State University with sample of 12 players whose accuracy of groundstroke punch technique was still low, not the core players and mid-level players. The instrument for the test used is the Hewitt Tennis Test to assess the level of accuracy by forehand and backhand groundstroke by using a predetermined target. The data analysis technique uses paired-t test, which is intended to compare the mean values of the pre-test and post-test results before and after treatment with the same sample. Before the paired-t test, performed the normality test and homogeneity test. The results showe...

Examining the Relation between Physical Characteristics of 10-12 Year-Old Male Tennis Players and Forehand and Backhand Stroke SpeedsIn the present study, the purpose was to examine the effects of some physical characteristics on the stroke speed in forehand and backhand techniques in tennis. The Study Group consisted of 10-12-year-old tennis players of Isparta Süleyman Demirel University Tennis Courts (mean age 10.15±.37 (years), mean height 1.46±.06 (m) mean body weight 38.77±6.67 (kg), mean sports age 4.76±1.16 (years)). Forehand and backhand strokes were performed in a closed tennis court to control the effect of the weather in measuring ball speed. The athletes warmed up until they reached maximal forehand and backhand speed levels. Three minutes after the athletes warmed up, the tests were started. They were asked to perform forehand and backhand strokes at 8 maximal speed. Sports Radar, Power Madd was used to measure the ball speed. The measurements of the radar used to measure the speed of the ball were taken at the time of the strokes and immediately after the strokes. The strokes were made in line with ...

Effects Concentration, Arm Muscle Strength, And Wrist Flexibility On The Accuracy Of Forehand Drives And Backhand Drives2019 •
Generally, this study aims to obtain a description of the difference between the influence of wall exercise model and machine exercise model, the interaction between forehand training model and achievement motivation, the difference between the influence of the wall exercise model and the machine exercise model for students who have high achievement motivation and the difference of the effect of the wall exercise model and the machine exercise model for students with low achievement motivation for tennis forehand skills. The method used in this research is experimental method with 2 x 2 factorial design, the population of all students of PJKR in 5th semester of FKIP Unsil Tasikmaya is 378 students, there are 115 samples with random sampling technique, while data collection technique is using test and measurement and the analytical technique is used by two-lane variance analysis (ANOVA) with 2 x 2 factorial design. There is a difference in learning outcomes of tennis forehand skills between machine exercise model and wall exercise model (Fo = 58,4820> Ft = 4.11). There is an interaction between the exercise model and the achievement motivation for the forehand tennis skills (Fo = 50, 5620> Ft = 4.11). There is a difference between forehand learning outcomes using machine exercise model and wall exercise model for highly motivated students (Qo = 5.9032> Qt = 3.79), there is a difference between forehand learning outcomes using machine model of exercise and wall exercise model towards low motivated student (Qo = 22,54> Qt = 3,79). It is suggested to teach groups of students who have high achievements by using the machine or wall exercise model to improve their tennis forehand skills. Meanwhile, to teach students who have low achievement motivation is expected to use the wall exercise model.

Groundstroke Training Model Based on Situation Game for Field Tennis Athletes Aged 12-14 Years2022 •
This study aims to create a game situation-based groundstroke forehand and groundstroke backhand training model for tennis athletes aged 12-14 years and improve forehand and backhand skills using a game situation-based groundstroke training model for athletes aged 12-14 years. The research method used is the Research & Development Research & Development (R&D) Borg and Gall method. Subjects studied were 15 people and were athletes aged 12-14 years. The results of the pre-test test obtained an average of 31.73. Then, the post-test obtained an average of 40.00. The exercise correlation coefficient before and after the exercise model was given was 0.946 with a p-value of 0.00 < 0.05, so the conclusion was significant. In the mean difference test with SPSS, the mean = 8.26667 shows the difference between the pre-test and post-test, the result of t-count = 26,183, df = 19 and p-value = 0.00<0.05, which means there is a significant difference between before and after being given game...
