Recovery practices have become increasingly popular with high performance athletes over the last 20 years. As training and competition demands have increased athletes have attempted to avoid overtraining, overuse, and burnout problems associated with heavy workloads. Recovery is part of the supercompensation methodology and is intended to enhance adaptation to training stress through the recognition and management of fatigue. Fatigue is a natural response to training and stress and as such it is an essential part of the human adaptive process. However the broad range of physiological, cognitive, and emotional states integral to human performances have meant that sport scientists have struggled to provide a universally accepted definition of fatigue. The fatigue experienced by an athlete stems from training and performance environments as well as individual lifestyle situations. The selection of appropriate recovery strategies by an athlete or coach often depends on experiential or a...
A direct contact with vibratory surfaces have an effect on local and whole animal or human body. Nowadayswhole body vibrations are very basic and optional activities designed to shape and support physical rehabilitation and neuromuscular activityand specifically athletic performance which is common in gyms, sports shops, hotels and fitness rooms. But, it’s not a well-known modality for active, inactive people, and patients in Ethiopia. Indeed, availability of unsupervised vibration training and commercial provision of vibratory gym materials may led to trainees functional and structural body changes. Thus, this article aimed to reviews relevant publications reporting the body respond to vibration and delineate evidence-based implications to current knowledge of the effects of whole body vibration on body composition and musculoskeletal performance. A systematic literature search was performed in databases of Science Direct Scopus, and Google Scholar from 2003 to 2018. This review summarizes that the whole-body vibration has found a positive effect on body fat percentage, muscle, and bone function. Howe ever body composition can mostly have referenced with whole body vibration induced lean mass increment. A supervised vibration training given to healthy individuals and patients with reference to its contra-indications should have ample importance than free direct exposure. Thus, these findings could serve as a model for fitness trainers, club coaches, health care practitioners to implement whole body vibration as an exercise-based management intervention. Nevertheless, attention must be paid to different vibration load effects (i.e. frequency, exposure time, amplitude, and acceleration). In addition, whole body vibration training with additional low-risk and specific training are more advantageous.Key words: Body Composition, Musculoskeletal Function, Patient, Whole body vibration training
The present research deals with psychological traits of Taekwondo athletes in global and division classes. The study population included all taekwondo athletes in Iran. The research sample involves 110 taekwondo athletes (54 in world class: world and Olympic medalist and 56 in division one) were chosen as per systematic sampling. For data collection, questionnaire sports oriented Gale (1998), NEO-Five Factor Inventory, Short Form (NEO)-Subject Follow-up (Costa and McGraw, 1985), mental skills assessment questionnaire (Durand Bush and Salmela, 2001) and Anxiety Inventory (Martens, 1977) were used. After determining descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation), the data were analyzed through one-way ANOVA at the significant level (P<0.05) using SPSS version 21. The results showed that there is significant difference between both groups (motivation) development, mental skills and competitive anxiety and in personality factors except neuroticism there were no significant differences between the two groups. The researcher has done the training on two days a week, for six weeks. All twelve players were tested by selected performance variables at before and after completion of six weeks of training. The pretest, posttest were analyzed by ‘t” ratio. The level of significance for the study was chosen as 0.05. The study revealed that the above said criterion variables were significantly improved due to the influence of video analysis of school level badminton players. Key words: Badminton, video analysis, short serve and long serve.
