The purpose of the study was to determine the effects of warming-up of different duration on selected Physical Fitness Components of volleyball players. Twenty male volleyball players of degree college Budgam were selected for the purpose of the study. The ages of the selected subjects were ranging from 18 to 25 years and their status was intercollegiate level. The data were collected on the selected subjects by administrating vertical jump in cm, sit and reach test in centimeters, 4x10 yards shuttle run in seconds, eye hand and eye leg co-ordination in seconds. The selected test items were administered for four days preceded after no warm-up on the first day, 5 minutes warm up on the second day, 10 minutes warm up on the third day and 15 minutes warm up on the fourth day. One way analysis of variance as well as Scheff`s post hoc test were employed to assess the significant difference among the means. The result of the study showed that the significant difference were found in the cases of explosive leg strength and flexibility, whereas no significant differences were found in the cases of agility, eye hand coordination due to the different duration of warming-up programme.

Abstract The purpose of this study is used to compare the physical fitness of volleyball players and the players in football and kabaddi. The study was conducted on 45 boys of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology. The age group of the subject was ranged from17 to 20 years. The subjects were tested with the help of the North Carolina physical fitness test battery (Sit-ups, Side –stepping, Standing broad jump, Pull ups) to find out the physical fitness test elements of kabadi players and the players in football and volleyball in SRIT. For the study of mean value, standard deviation, t- test were applied to analyze the data, different steps in “t” test were used. Keywords: Physical fitness, sit-ups, side –stepping, standing broad jump, pull ups
ABSTRACT The purpose of the study was to find out the Analysis of predominance of selected motor fitness components and physiological variables of men volleyball players. To achieve this purpose of the study, thirty men students of Department of Physical Education, Sri A.V.V.M Pushpam College, Poondi, Tamil Nadu, India were tested. The age of the subjects were ranged from 18 to 24 years. The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups of fifteen subjects each, such as Experimental Group and control group. The group I Experimental Group conducted test for three days per week for eight weeks and group II acted as control. Who did not underwent any special training programme apart from their regular day today physical education curriculum. The following variables speed and vital capacity were selected as criterion variables for this study. The researcher had discussed with the experts, physical education professionals and had reviewed the various literatures and then selected the following test items, which were standardized, ideal apt test for the selected criterion variables. Speed and vital capacity were assessed by 50 meters dash with wet spirometer respectively. All the subjects of two groups were tested on selected criterion variables at prior to and immediately after the training programme as test selection. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used to find out the significant difference if any, among the groups on each selected criterion variables separately. In all the cases .05 level of confidence was fixed to test the significance, which was considered as appropriate. The results of the study revealed that there was a significant difference between progressive Experimental Group and control group on selected criterion variables such as speed and vital capacity.

Relationship of Selected Physical Variables with the Performance of Volleyball PlayersVolleyball being a highly explosive sport, involves a unique movement technique and strength over a relatively small court area. The match is won normally by a perfect amalgam of physical condition, mental attitude, courage, intelligence and the player's technical skill and tactical efficiency. This study was undertaken to find the relationship of arm strength, leg strength, cordinative ability and flexibility with the performance of Volleyball Player. 20 male Volleyball Player were selected as a subject for the study from Saharanpur District. Zero order correlation was used to compute correlation between Volleyball performance and selected variables i.e. arm strength, leg strength, cordinative ability and flexibility and findings reveals that leg strength, shoulder wrist flexibility and cordinative ability were found significant at 0.05 level of confidence. The finding indicates that shoulder-Leg strength, shoulder & wrist flexibility and cordinative ability of the subjects were important variables for better performance in Volleyball.

The purpose of the study was to compare the physical fitness of Volleyball and Handball players of intercollegiate players of Jammu University, Jammu and Kashmir. For this study 15 Handball (Age 20±0.845) and 15 volleyball players (age 21.866 ± 0.833) were selected. Physical fitness variables were strength, endurance, agility, speed, flexibility. The tests taken to measure these were pull ups, sit ups, shuttle run, 50 m dash and 600 m run. Data was analyzed by using t-test independent, level of significance set at 0.05. Analyzed data showed that there was no significant difference sit ups, and 600 m run, but there was a significant difference between the two groups on the basis of Pull ups, shuttle run and 50 M dash run performed by them.

Comparisons of physical fitness components between the volleyball and football players of age 16-18 yearsThe aim of the present study was to compare the selected basketball and volleyball male players. Total forty subjects were randomly selected (20 from basketball and 20 from volleyball) from various schools of Ghazipur District of Uttar Pradesh were taken as a sample. Th ranged between 15-18 years. Physical fitness tests were used to measure the selected physical fitness variables of players. For analysis of the data Mean & Standard Deviation were calculated and to examine the significance difference between the groups mean of different physical fitness variables, independent t level of confidence was set at 0.05 level. Study concluded that insignificant difference found between the means of selected physical fitness variables such as speed, ag and volleyball male players.
