The aim of the study was to determine the effect on flexibility of volleyball players by some selected exercises. For this purpose 20 male volley ball players (10 for control group and 10 for experimental group) of Government Boys Higher secondary school Charirshareef Budgam were selected randomly as subject and the age was ranging from 17 to 21 years. Exercises were restricted to Trunk twisting, Rope skipping, Shoulder and chest stretch, Alternative toe touch zigzag Running, Hip stretch and Hamstring stretch. Flexibility was restricted to Trunk and Shoulder flexibility. The data were collected before the start of 8 weeks selected exercise programme (pre test) and immediately after the completion of 8 weeks selected exercise programme (post test) by sit and reach test for the trunk flexibility and shoulder elevation test by using yard stick and ruler and score was recorded in centimeters. To determine the training effect on flexibility Independent and Dependent t-test statistical technique were employed. The level of significance was set at 0.05 to check the significant mean difference. The finding of statistical analysis revealed that there were significant difference between the mean of pre and post test of experimental group and post test of control and experiment group. Experimental group significantly improved the selected flexibility because of systematic training programme.

The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship of selected strength and flexibility measures to playing ability in volleyball. Twenty four volleyball players of the Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, Gwalior, were selected as subject for the purpose of this study. For measuring arm strength Roger’s formula was used, abdominal strength by bent knee sit-up for 60 seconds, leg strength by leg dynamometer, grip strength by using grip dynamometer, wrist and ankle flexibility were measured by goniometer, trunk flexibility by bend and reach test and the shoulder flexibility by rod centimeters and metric scale. A Comparative Study on Flexibility of Different Athletes of Ballgame and Indigenous GameThe purpose of the study was to compare the Flexibility of different body parts between the athletes of Ball game and Indigenous game. The study was confined to sixty college level players randomly selected as subjects from, age ranging from 22 to 28 years from Department of physical education Subharti University, Meerut. Out of sixty, two groups was formed of which thirty was selected from ball games and the remaining thirty was selected from indigenous games. The variables undertaken for the said research under Flexibility were hip and back flexion as well as extension of the hamstring muscles of the legs which was measured by the modified sit-and-reach test, Hyper extensibility of spine was measured by the Bridge-up test, Extension of the leg from front to rear was measured by the Front to rear splits test, Extension in spreading the legs apart was measured by the Side splits test, Shoulder and Wrist Flexibility was measured by the shoulder-and-wrist elevation test, Trunk and Neck extension ability was measured by the Trunk-and-neck extension test, Extension of Shoulder was measured by the Shoulder rotation test, Ankle extension ability was measured by the Ankle extension (plantar flexion) test, Ankle flexion ability and stretching the gastrocnemius (calf) and heel cord was measured by the Ankle flexion (dorsi flexion) test. The statistical Student't' test was applied to calculate the collected data at the 0.05 level of significance. The result ultimately shows that there was no significant difference in respect to flexibility of different body parts between Athletes of Ballgame and Indigenous game.

The study was under taken with the purpose of comparing selected physical fitness variables in Table Tennis Players and Badminton Players. The variables selected were Agility and Flexibility. 60 male school students were selected as subjects aging 14 year to 16 year (15.17 ± 0.51) who were actively involved in their respective games. Among these 30 belonged to Badminton game and rest 30 belonged to Table Tennis game. Descriptive Statistics and Independent ‘t’ test were employed using IBM SPSS-17 Software. Findings suggest that the players belonging to Badminton game were superior in both Agility and Flexibility in comparison to the players belonging to TableTennis game. Background: Cricket, football, and basketball are dynamic sports that require intensive training to develop strength & flexibility. Objectives: The aim of this study is to measure and compare strength in cricket, football, basketball players, and versatility. We have measured handgrip strength, leg & back strength, and shoulder, back & ankle flexibility. Materials and Methods: Total of 60 healthy crickets, football & basketball players (15-25 years), from the sport academy were included. They must be regularly practicing players for the last 3 years. This research aims to establish the effect of flexibility exercise on the motor abilities of young football players. The total number of participants was 68 young football players (beginners, pioneers, and cadets) from the Ramiz Sadiku Football Club in Prishtina, Kosovo. The participants were divided into control and experimental groups. The research implemented seven variables for estimating motor abilities. The effect of physical exercise according to the programme of flexibility on the motor abilities of young football players was investigated using uni-variant analysis. The course of preparatory and competition period training programme was conducted three times per week, for both groups. Relationship of Selected Physical Variables with the Performance of Volleyball PlayersVolleyball being a highly explosive sport, involves a unique movement technique and strength over a relatively small court area. The match is won normally by a perfect amalgam of physical condition, mental attitude, courage, intelligence and the player's technical skill and tactical efficiency. This study was undertaken to find the relationship of arm strength, leg strength, cordinative ability and flexibility with the performance of Volleyball Player. 20 male Volleyball Player were selected as a subject for the study from Saharanpur District. Zero order correlation was used to compute correlation between Volleyball performance and selected variables i.e. arm strength, leg strength, cordinative ability and flexibility and findings reveals that leg strength, shoulder wrist flexibility and cordinative ability were found significant at 0.05 level of confidence. The finding indicates that shoulder-Leg strength, shoulder & wrist flexibility and cordinative ability of the subjects were important variables for better performance in Volleyball.

The purpose of the research was to impact of stretching exercise intervention training programme on flexibility and athletic power in students. The 25 student as a experimental group who were stuying in Swami Ramanand Teeth Marathawada University Nanded and 25 other students as a control group was selected as subject for present study. and their age ranged between 22-30years. For the purpose of the study effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and static stretching on muscular strength and flexibility of cricketers, One hundred and fifty cricketers, age ranged from 18th to 25th years from Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education Gwalior were taken for this study of which fifty were given proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching programme (PNF Group), another fifty were given static stretching programme (SS Group) and the remaining fifty was termed as a control group who were not involve in any experimental treatment. The Sergeant vertical jump test (Johnson 2007,) and sit and reach test (Kansal 1996,) were conducted to measure muscular strength and flexibility respectively at the gymnasium of LNIPE Gwalior Madhya Pradesh. A pre test was taken and immediate after the completion of the training programmes, the post test was held. The data gathered were duly analyzed through statistical procedure. Analysis of Covariance statistics was applied by using SPSS 17 version. The level of significance was set at P<0.05 level of confidence. The effects of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching programme and static stretching programme are important clinically because the effects may relate to optimizing function, injury prevention, and enhanced muscle performance and both the stretching found to be effective in bringing about changes in muscular strength and flexibility of cricketers.
